Just before closing on February 10, 2010, I made a surprise
visit to the CarHop store on Penn Ave in the Minneapolis suburb of
Richfield. When I was there I met a charming CarHop customer by the
name of Brie. She was in buying her THIRD car from CarHop.
As I
was talking with her, she explained that she had first come to CarHop
more that 7 years ago and that she was surprised that they were able to
get her approved. She had some past credit problems and she really was
afraid they would say no.
What
she found as she told me was that even though she had credit problems,
she was treated with respect and dignity. She was surprised, but I told
her, that's what we do every day. A few years later she had a baby and
needed a bigger car. She came back to CarHop and bought a minivan.
Again, she said she was treated well and liked the program.
On
the day I met her, she was buying her third car, a nice compact SUV
that she said would be perfect for her family. Over time she has worked
to improve her credit and could have bought a car from just about any
dealer. So I asked why she came back to CarHop? "They've always treated
me well and I appreciate that. I don't think I'll ever go anywhere
else. Besides, these cars have a warranty and most used dealers don't
give you that."
